King Street Marketplace
Having been granted a royal charter by King John in 1200, the market has a variety of traditional and modern stalls. Some more traditional traders have been coming to the market for decades, while other newcomers cater for the latest trends in food and gifts.
The King Street Food Festival has been organised by local business owner Angela Langton (Angela Bare). Angela has a strong connection to the marketplace and as a child spent many hours helping her father, who organised the markets and held stalls himself, sorting goods and being involved in the running of the business. The market was booming back in its day!
Angela also has a solid business background and has had successful food and hospitality businesses in the local area. Angela has a passion for good food and bringing communities together (that must be her Italian heritage!)
